Title - Spider

WALT: describe

Remember to:
  • use looks, actions and characteristics
  • use describing words
  • similes and metaphors
  • paragraphs (from planning sheet)

Are you afraid of spiders? Do they make your scream when you see one? I am going to tell you why you should not be so scared. Spiders are cool.

A spider has 8 hairy legs and a fat, round body. Spiders make webs that look like nets to catch their food. They eat flies and insects.

Spiders are found all around the world but not in Antarctica.

In the Garden

Today I was in the garden. We dung the mulch and it was so fun. After that we went back to kitchen and we eat some sushi. We also had a special visitor. It was Al Brown the chef. He asked me a question about what the mulch would do to the garden. It helps to keep the weeds away and stop lots of water evaporating.

Celery

20140529_083521.jpgLast week we put celery in to a jar with coloured water to find out how it drinks water.

We cut the celery and saw coloured tubes. These tubes are how the water moves up from the roots into the stem and leaves.
